About:
Each year, a team of 10–12 MBA students are selected to manage the Silver Fund, which includes portfolios of approximately $3.5 million in real-dollar funds.
The Silver Fund was established in 1984 through a donation from the Harold Silver family and provides students with an opportunity to manage a $2 million stock portfolio and conduct the associated security analysis and portfolio performance measurement. Students also have the opportunity to manage a $5 million bond portfolio of Zion Bank funds where they learn about and apply fixed income concepts including credit and duration analysis.
Historically, participation in the Silver Fund has been helpful in obtaining positions in investment management and investment banking firms but is also a useful experience for students interested in corporate finance.
How to Join:
Silver Fund is a limited-enrollment six-credit course (three credits per semester) that runs throughout the fall and winter semesters for second-year MBA students.
