About:
BYU Cougar Capital is a venture capital and private equity fund deploying real dollars into real companies.
A course for second-year MBA students, BYU Cougar Capital is a donation-based, evergreen-structured fund that works closely with established VC/PE firms on deals. The fund sources almost all of its deal flow from these industry partnerships and seeks to add value to their partners’ investment process through significant due-diligence efforts, as well as by providing additional post-deal analysis of companies in which they have invested. Accepted students actively pursue investment opportunities, perform due diligence, and deploy capital.
Led by faculty advisor Gary Williams, a well-rounded academic advisory board, and additional advisors consisting of respected industry professionals, BYU Cougar Capital provides academic learning through applied experience.
How to Join:
BYU Cougar Capital participants are selected from students in Gary Williams’s MBA 664: Venture Capital/Private Equity course offered during winter semester of the first year of the program.
