In a crowded marketplace, a distinctive graphic pattern can help BYU Marriott build brand recognition and support a unified and cohesive look to our identity.

The pattern can be scaled up or down to whatever works best on a given tactic, making it suitable for various applications, from swag to large-scale environmental displays. However, the pattern should never be treated as an icon or logo. It is always tilted on a 30° angle as represented in the examples. The pattern is always in navy applied over a background color. Patterns should only be applied over solid colors—never over other patterns, illustrations, or photographs.
If cropping the pattern, do so at an angle that follows the edge of the M shapes. Do not crop into the M’s at right or left. It is acceptable to crop into them at top and bottom. Do not crop the pattern down to a single M in order to create an icon.
Primary Palette
Primary pattern designs have a predominantly navy profile.

Secondary Palette
Secondary palettes include the navy pattern applied over accent colors. In application, secondary palettes must be paired with an equal amount of navy. The accent colors shown below are the recommended accent colors that pair best with the pattern. If using another accent color for the background, it is acceptable to tint the background to make the pattern work best in the application, but be sure that the pattern is visible and not vibrating against the background. Patterns should be applied over solid colors only—never over other patterns, illustrations, or photographs.
