Ancillary wordmarks and abbreviations may be used in cases where brevity is essential—typically on promotional merchandise. Wordmarks may be used in place of the formal program logo lockup, but the primary BYU Marriott logo must also be visible. Longer wordmarks have stacked configurations to fit smaller spaces. Do not pair academic program logos with ancillary wordmarks.

Familiarity with abbreviations can be context-sensitive and dependent on academic field. Remember that shorthand familiar to specialists in a given field (or longtime university employees) could confuse non-specialists, non-university readers, and new employees.
Usage Guidelines
Color Usage
Below are the only acceptable colorations of the ancillary wordmarks and abbreviations. Use background colors that offer sufficient contrast for the mark to be clearly visible.
Clear Space
Photos, text, and graphic elements must maintain a clear space around the wordmark or abbreviation to ensure readability.
Minimum Scale
The wordmark or abbreviation should always be large enough to be legible.
Dos and Don’ts
Do pair wordmarks with the BYU Marriott logo.
Don’t distort or stretch the wordmark.
Don’t pair the wordmark with graphic iconography.
