Program Proposals

International study abroad programs are an important aspect of the BYU experience and offer an opportunity to provide students with quality academic experiences and opportunities for personal growth not possible on campus.

In addition to achieving program-specific academic learning outcomes, all programs should develop skills in intercultural communications, cultivate specific cultural knowledge, provide spiritually rich learning experiences, and promote an understanding of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a global context.

The Marriott School of Business has established and approved study abroad programs that provide invaluable international experiences for students. Each year, these programs require faculty and administrators who are passionate about fostering global perspectives and are interested in taking on the rewarding responsibility of leading a program.

These leaders play a crucial role in shaping students’ international experiences, helping them gain new insights, cultural understanding, and professional skills.

Our current set of approved programs include:

Regionally Based General Business Programs:

Europe Business

Asia or Asia Pacific Business

Latin America Business

Academic Discipline Based Programs:

Propose A New Program

All new proposed programs must be approved through the Marriott School coordinated by the Global Business Center and then through the International Studies Program Advisory Council (ISPAC). This council reviews programs for academic merit, clarity of learning outcomes, and demonstration of appropriate purpose and rigor.

When proposing a new program, please be aware that new programs must be submitted to the ISPAC prior to March 1 in the academic year prior to the program running. In order for internal approvals to be handled first, we ask that you submit new proposals as early as possible or by February 1 at the latest in order to be ready for the March 1st deadline.
