Biography
I am a Senior Manager for the Succeed in School program, with responsibilities for Strategy & Research and Africa West and Utah Area Manager. I lead initiatives to improve educational access and outcomes for youth across countries and cultures. Succeed in School has rapidly expanded to serve more than 40,000 students with approval to operate in almost 30 countries (2025). I have directly supported program growth and continue to contribute to Succeed in School approved expansion in key operational and strategic roles through innovation, scaling, and research, especially in West Africa. Key initiatives include the Succeed in School meal program (see caring.ChurchofJesusChrist.org), BYU-Pathway/Succeed in School Teacher Certificate (2026 pilot), Succeed in School Teacher Training Support (2026 pilot), CES Student Success, and WASSCE prep mentoring program (2024-35).
With a Ph.D. in Instructional Psychology and Technology from Brigham Young University, my research focus includes mentoring, evaluation, research, instructional design, online and blended learning, and qualitative and mixed methods research. At Succeed in School I oversee program operations and implementation in West Africa and Utah locations. This includes area-level reporting and forecasting and building strategic partnerships to support innovation and impact for learners worldwide, including humanitarian collaborations.
As an Adjunct Faculty instructor at BYU, I teach and mentor students in person and online and develop course curriculum that encourages faith, learning, and leadership for a successful academic, personal, and professional future through higher education and becoming BYU initiatives.I share mentoring best practices as a mentoring researcher, and use my research and scholarly data to improve mentoring in education, business, nonprofit, and other fields. My doctoral dissertation, "Improving Mentoring in Higher Education," was a 10-year literature review on higher education mentoring and two global mentoring studies at BYU-Pathway are regularly cited for best mentoring practices (see publications, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate).
