Biography
Colonel Jonathan M. Creer is the commander of Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 855, Provo, Utah. He leads the university level officer development programs for Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University. His responsibilities include recruiting, training, educating and inspiring Air Force and Space Force officer candidates. He instructs courses in leadership, national security affairs, and Airpower history.
Colonel Creer entered the Air Force in 1997 as a Distinguished Graduate from Air Force ROTC with a degree in International Relations. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School and served as Squadron and Wing Weapons Officer for B-1 units during combat operations. During his career, Colonel Creer completed multiple combat deployments supporting Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Odyssey Dawn. He also supported contingency operations and Continuous Bomber Presence missions in the Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and European theaters.
In 2009, Colonel Creer was selected as an Air Force Chief of Staff Embassy Fellow where he was selected to serve at U.S. Embassy Beijing, China. He served in multiple staff assignments as Chief, Strategy Plans, 603rd Air Operations Center, U.S. Air Forces Europe and AFRICA; Branch Chief, Theater and NATO Campaign Plans, U.S. European Command; and as Division Chief, Missile Defense and Space Division, J5/8 Directorate, U.S. European Command. Prior to his current role, he was the Division Chief, Multinational Coordination Center, U.S. Africa Command. He holds advanced degrees in Military Strategy from the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies, and the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.
