Biography
McKenzie Rees is an Associate Professor at the BYU Marriott School of Business, where she joined the faculty in 2021. Her research focuses on ethical decision making in organizations, examining how situational factors contribute to bounded ethicality and ethical fading, leading employees to act in ways that are inconsistent with their personal values and organizational standards. Her work on ethical decision making also investigates how organizational systems and leadership practices can be designed to promote ethical awareness and values-consistent decision making.
In a complementary stream of research, Dr. Rees focuses on the distinct challenges women face in the workplace, exploring how more inclusive and values-aligned environments can be created to support the unique strengths of women.
Dr. Rees earned her Ph.D. from the University of Utah in 2015. Prior to joining BYU Marriott, she held faculty appointments at the University of Notre Dame and Southern Methodist University.
