Biography
Brady Hodges is an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Marriott School of Business. Prior to joining BYU, Brady was the TDAB Faculty Scholar and Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Missouri. At Mizzou, Brady founded the Trulaske Biometric and Behavioral Research Lab, directed the Marketing PhD Program, and developed and served as founding director of the undergraduate Global Business Certificate.
Dr. Hodges primarily researches the intersection of cognitive psychology and marketing, with particular focus on psycholinguistics, numerical cognition, semiotics, and cross-cultural consumer behavior. Through his research he aspires to enhance firm effectiveness, improve consumer awareness, and advance societal good. Operationally, he takes a multi-method approach to his research, combining cutting-edge biometric technologies (e.g., eye-tracking and facial expression), field studies, traditional lab experiments, AI, and secondary data analyses to triangulate findings and reveal substantive managerial implications.
Professor Hodges has taught marketing research, global marketing, marketing management, business study abroad programs, and an experiential-learning program he designed in which students help companies prepare to enter foreign markets. He has also taught PhD courses in consumer behavior & experimental methods, and professional development.
Before pursuing a PhD, Brady worked as the China Marketing Manager for Little Giant Ladder Systems in Shanghai, China. While earning his undergraduate degree he taught Mandarin Chinese. He also spent two years serving as a volunteer missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taichung, Taiwan.
