We are pleased to announce the 2027 BYU Winter Strategy Conference, hosted by the BYU Marriott School of Business at Sundance Mountain Resort in Sundance, Utah.
As in prior years, we invite submissions from junior faculty and scholars for presentation at the conference.
Call for Papers
28th BYU Winter Strategy Conference
February 24–26, 2027
Sundance Mountain Resort | Sundance, Utah
The Winter Strategy Conference brings together approximately 50 scholars for rigorous academic exchange in a highly interactive setting. The conference is designed to foster substantive discussion of important questions in strategy while creating meaningful opportunities for engagement among scholars at different career stages.
A central part of the conference is our commitment to supporting and developing junior scholars. We invite junior faculty (pre-tenure) to submit their best work for consideration. Each selected scholar will present their research and receive detailed feedback from an experienced discussant, along with substantial engagement from conference participants.
We particularly welcome papers that address important first-order questions in strategy and adjacent fields. We are intentionally broad in defining the scope of the call and encourage work that tackles consequential problems, develops new theoretical or empirical insights, or challenges how we think about firms, organizations, strategic behavior, and performance.
Junior scholar paper sessions will be complemented by invited plenary presentations and panel discussions focused on broader questions and emerging issues facing the field of strategy. Through a combination of formal presentations and informal interaction in our mountain setting, the conference aims to promote constructive debate, new connections, and the development of ideas that can advance the field.
Submission Information
Submissions will be accepted until October 15th at midnight, Mountain Time.
We expect to notify authors of decisions by November 1st.
