About Marketing Lab
The BYU Marketing Lab pairs top-tier MBA and undergraduate marketing students with world-class faculty, and together they work on impactful real-world projects from paying clients in a wide variety of industries and geographies. Projects fall into the following areas: consumer insights and analysis, culture discourse analysis, brand strategy, product strategy, and pricing strategy. Students get paid, get real-world experience, and have direct control over the projects and client interaction, while at the same time benefiting from the mentorship of experienced faculty, including former insights and analytics agency executives.
How to Join Marketing Lab
After completing the first semester of the marketing junior core, students can apply to join Matt Madden’s Marketing Consulting class. This is a prerequisite to joining the Marketing Lab.
The Marketing Consulting class will provide insight and training on marketing consulting best practices and project management, both of which are critical to success for Marketing Lab members. More information about how/when to apply to the Marketing Lab will be given as part of this class. Performance in this class is considered as students apply to join the Marketing Lab.
