Biography:

Rick and Eve Whitmore have longstanding ties to BYU and to the Marriott School of Business. Rick spent most of his career at IBM, where he held senior executive financial positions across multiple business units and geographies. His work included international assignments in Japan, China, Spain and various Latin American countries. He earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from BYU in 1982 and added an MBA at Harvard University in 1988.

Rick is the son of Kay and Yvonne Whitmore, whose major contributions to the Marriott School led to the establishment of the Whitmore Global Business Center. Rick now serves on the center’s advisory board. He credits his father’s consistent efforts to expand the global reach of the Marriott School for shaping his approach to service.

They visit campus regularly in support of the Marriott School, the Whitmore Global Business Center, and the Chemical Engineering department, always with a focus on expanding the global footprint of BYU.
