Undergraduate and graduate students preparing for careers in the healthcare industry may apply to become a BYU Marriott School of Business Healthcare Leadership Scholar. This advanced educational opportunity provides healthcare management exposure to complement students’ developing disciplinary skills (accounting, data analytics, ethics, finance, human resources, information systems, marketing, operations management, organizational behavior, strategy, supply chain management, and other specializations).
Students may apply in the spring before they anticipate completing the class requirements for the scholarship. Preference is given to students who have completed the requirements prior to application. Acceptance is communicated by 30 June. Scholarship funds are awarded after the add/drop deadline of the Fall or Winter semester in which the student will complete the scholarship requirements, or in the Fall semester for those who previously completed the requirements.
For MBA students, the Healthcare Leadership Scholarship is a Learn Do Become that can be combined with any other Learn Do Become in the program.
Potential scholars must submit their applications to his@byu.edu by 15 May. Applications include a statement of interest demonstrating academic, work, volunteer, and life experiences relating to the healthcare industry in addition to future career plans, leadership experience, and other reasons they would like to be selected as a Healthcare Leadership Scholar.
