Gary Newsome retired as president and CEO of Health Management Associates Inc. He was formerly president of hospital operations, a division of Community Health Systems, and has been in the healthcare industry for more than twenty-five years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Bluefield State College in West Virginia and his MBA from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Gary and Kathy have seven children.
