Biography:
Angela Hughes is the CEO and founder of Trips & Ships Luxury Travel, where she leads a multi-million-dollar host agency. With more than 40 years of experience and travel to over 115 countries, she is not only a luxury travel expert, she’s a dynamic entrepreneur, visionary strategist, and a sought-after voice in the premium travel space.
Angela earned her master’s degree in geography, with an emphasis in travel and tourism, from BYU. She taught as an adjunct professor at BYU and currently serves on the President’s Leadership Council for BYU Pathway Worldwide. She also sits on the multiple advisory boards and committees. She served her mission in Osaka, Japan, which deepened her love for the culture, and also shaped her lifelong perspective on service, travel, and global connection.
Angela also works as a private consultant for some of the world’s leading travel brands and as a trusted luxury travel influencer and brand ambassador. Angela writes a column for Insider Travel Report and has been featured in leading media including The Washington Post, Travel Weekly, Travel Market Report, Wall Street Journal, Travel Pulse, and Luxury Travel Advisor. In 2024, Angela was named Luxury Travel Influencer of the Year by Travel Leaders Network and earned multiple Magellan Awards for advisor education and social media excellence.
Angela is also the founder of Luxury Travel University, a powerful training platform that supports advisors, suppliers, and hospitality professionals in scaling profitable businesses. She spent over a decade building humanitarian travel programs and sustainable volunteer initiatives through her nonprofit, Color My World, until its closure in 2024.
Above all, Angela is grounded in what matters most--family. She is the proud mother of five children and grandmother of three, and she believes that success in business means nothing without success at home. Her philosophy is simple: lead with purpose, elevate others, and create experiences that truly transform.
