Biography:

James Johnson is the owner of his own boutique insurance agency in Southern California. He started in the property and casualty insurance industry in 2003 after surviving cancer and being laid off from his job in the technology industry. He worked for 5 years for a large multinational agency, Hub International, before starting O-Line Business Insurance Services, LLC, in 2011.

James graduated from Brigham Young University’s Romney Institute with a Master of Public Administration in 1997. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from BYU. After graduation, he tried out for the Kansas City Chiefs and found it was time to make money with his brain. James has gone on to earn the professional designation of CIC, Certified Insurance Counselor. He has remained active in the church and served as a seminary teacher, bishop, and stake high councilman. James has found great joy in self-employment and regularly says he finally has a boss he can work with. He prides himself on being a risk manager for a few solidly run small and midsized businesses that want to do insurance the right way.

James is happy to share that he was sealed to Andrea Gregersen Hess in July 2023. After experiencing a devastating divorce, the light that Andrea and her very kind children have brought to his life has solidified James’ belief in God’s love and mercy.
