Biography:

Carrie Bennett currently works as a Program Manager in the Division of Health Promotion at the Utah County Health Department. Carrie was born in Illinois and moved her family to Utah after serving 5 years of active duty as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy. After her enlistment, she earned a B.S. in Community Health Education from Utah Valley University in 2007.

Carrie has served in various health educator roles at the Utah County Health Department for over 16 years conducting evidence-based community programs and providing technical assistance to worksites, city councils and state legislators on health policies related to Tobacco Prevention and Control, Injury Prevention and Chronic Disease Prevention.

In 2017, she earned an Executive MPA from BYU. She advanced her skills in health education earning the Master Certified Health Education Specialist certification. As Program Manager she is responsible for providing leadership and support to staff while overseeing the contracts and budgets for the following grants: Prevention Block Grant, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Nutrition and Physical Activity, Healthy Aging, and the Asthma grant.

Carrie served a 2-year term as the Public Relations Chairman for the Utah Chapter of the Society of Public Health Education (USOPHE) throughout 2020-2021 where she received the USOPHE President’s award. She also served in an Ad Hoc position on Springville’s City’s Active Transportation Advisory Committee to create an Active Transportation Plan in the city where she resides. In her free time, Carrie enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, walking her dog, and mountain biking.
