Biography:

Leisa Tucker was born and raised in central Maine. She earned her undergraduate degree in Public Administration at the University of Maine and completed the MPA Program at BYU in 1996. After graduation, Leisa began her career working for West Valley City as the Director of Neighborhood Services. A sudden shift and move after marriage to rural California found her teaching High School until the family relocated to Las Vegas Nevada in 2000.

Leisa took on the role of Management Analyst for the Las Vegas Valley Water District/Southern Nevada Water Authority from 2000 to 2020, working on regional water issues and Human Resources functions. Additionally, during this time in Las Vegas, Leisa and her husband Michael became licensed foster parents, resulting in the adoption of four amazing special needs children who now range in age from 7 to 16.

Returning home to Maine, Leisa began working as the HR Manager at KidsPeace New England. KidsPeace is a national organization dedicated to helping children through special education programs and residential treatment programs. It is with KidsPeace that she truly feels her role is her “dream job,” combining her love of children with her ability to contribute to the organization.

Where there is “free time” in the schedule, Leisa is found at the sewing machine working on a quilt or with a book in hand.
