Biography:
Alex was raised in Kaysville, Utah. From 2007 to 2010, she studied at Southern Utah University and received her bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in Spanish. After graduation, she served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Arizona Mesa Mission, where she had the opportunity to serve in the Mesa Temple Visitor Center.
After completing her mission, Alex pursued a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in non-profit management from the Romney Institute. While in the MPA program, she served as a Senior Program Officer for Grantwell and worked with the Be a Philanthropist program to distribute microgrants to socially innovative causes in the community. She also had the opportunity to complete an internship with the Utah State Homelessness Programs Office. This internship evolved into a full-time position after graduation and gave Alex the chance to work with homeless service providers across Utah.
In 2019, Alex accepted the position of Director of Post-Award Services for the Office of Sponsored Programs with Utah Valley University. In this role, she negotiates and facilitates the acceptance of government grants and contracts on behalf of the University.
