Richard Meyers has served as the City Manager of the City of Cottage Grove, Oregon (population 10,155) since 1997. Prior to Cottage Grove he served as the City Manager for Myrtle Point, Oregon from 1990-1997 and a Staff Associate with the League of Arizona Cities and Towns from 1988-1990.

Richard attended Brigham Young University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy in 1985 and a Master in Public Administration in 1988. While earning his MPA, he served as an intern with the City of Orem. He has served in various committees with the League of Oregon Cities and in leadership positions with the Oregon City/County Management Association.

Richard and his wife, Wanda, have 4 married children and 9 grandchildren. They live in a home originally constructed in about 1895 and enjoy learning the history of the home and maintaining its charm. The entire family has always enjoyed camping (for years tent camping, now trailer camping) and spending time outdoors. They enjoy flat water kayaking and cycling.
