Biography:
Mike grew up in Billings, Montana and came to Utah in 1970. He graduated with a BS in Sociology in 1976 and an MPA degree in 1978 - both from BYU. He completed PhD coursework in political science at the University of Utah. Mike worked for the State of Utah for 36 years, including time as the director of the Utah Energy Office and director of housing programs.
After retirement in 2014, he was appointed by Governor Gary Herbert to the Olene Walker Housing Loan Fund Board, where he currently serves. He serves on the Wasatch County Arts Council, Midway Historic Preservation Committee, and Midway Boosters. Mike has served missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England, Temple Square, and the Humanitarian Center. He has fulfilled various Church callings, including over 30 years in scouting. He resides with his wife, Diann, and three children in Midway, Utah.
