Biography:

Adam Wright is a seasoned technology and cybersecurity leader with a career defined by translating complex technical risk into clear business insight. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 2003 with a Master of Information Systems Management (MISM), a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, and a minor in Spanish.

During his time at BYU, Adam was deeply engaged in student leadership, serving three years as an ASM (now AIS) Officer and one year as ASM President. Those roles allowed him to serve his fellow students while building early exposure to the companies recruiting top talent from the Marriott School. This was an experience that shaped both his leadership approach and his professional trajectory.

After graduation, Adam began his career with Ernst & Young (EY) in Houston, Texas, as an IT Auditor. Like many early-career professionals, his work initially focused on IT audits supporting annual financial statements relied upon by public-market investors. However, Adam quickly distinguished himself by gravitating toward more technical challenges to help clients understand and address their evolving cybersecurity risks.

Over the years that followed, Adam built a strong reputation in the industry as a professional who not only understood the deep technical foundations of cybersecurity, but who could also clearly articulate how those risks affect business operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. When EY re-launched its Advisory Consulting practice in 2009, Adam was invited to join the practice, where he concentrated on cybersecurity and large-scale technology implementations.

Today, as a Managing Director, Adam advises organizations on the technological and cybersecurity challenges with the greatest potential financial, operational, regulatory, and reputational impact. He regularly works with executive teams and Boards to help them understand how technology and cybersecurity risks align with broader business objectives. A frequent conference and boardroom speaker, Adam is known for making complex risk topics practical, relevant, and actionable. He consistently emphasizes to his teams that there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution and each client’s environment is shaped by its risk tolerance, industry dynamics, regulatory obligations, and the constantly evolving technology landscape.

Beyond his client responsibilities, Adam has maintained a strong commitment to education and mentorship. He joined the Information Systems Advisory Board (ISAB) in 2011 and was asked to serve as its President in 2014. In that role, he has greatly valued the opportunity to engage with students across all stages of the IS and MISM programs, helping them recognize and prepare for the wide range of career opportunities available to them through hard work and curiosity. Adam also serves on the Executive Advisory Board for Arizona State University, where he partners with faculty to strengthen and evolve IS and MIS curricula.

Outside of work, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife and children and taking full advantage of Arizona’s outdoor lifestyle.
