Biography:

Nick Barrett is the Director of Enterprise Architecture for Digital Technology at Raytheon, leading architecture practices across all Digital teams, focusing on strategies, frameworks, assurance, and technology standards to create trusted, secure, and scalable global solutions. He is also a Senior Technical Fellow and responsible for Raytheon's Digital technical staff talent pipeline.


Prior to his current role, Nick led Raytheon’s Digital Application, Data & AI Architecture. He brings expertise in cloud-native applications, DevSecOps, and security architectures for enterprise systems. Barrett brings more than 20 years of software and analytics experience applied in higher education, logistics, aerospace, and defense industries.

Prior to Raytheon Company’s merger with UTC in 2020, Nick held roles such as Enterprise Architect, Principal Investigator, Solution Architect, Principal Full-stack Engineer, and Web Developer. In these positions, he was responsible for key Raytheon business systems and solutions for both customer and internal research and development programs. Before joining Raytheon, he was a Senior Developer at FedEx Corporation responsible for DevOps and application lifecycle platforms for worldwide software engineering teams.

Nick holds a Master of Information Systems Management (MISM) degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Brigham Young University (2006). He is an RTX Certified Architect and holds several certifications, including AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Administrator, SAFe Architect, Cloud Security architect, TOGAF, Zachman, and Six-Sigma. He has published 30+ articles in international conferences and RTX symposia and holds 10 patents.


Nick currently lives in Tucson, Arizona with his wife and children. In his spare time, he enjoys family history research, photography, and following BYU sports.
