Biography:

Dan Meservy is a BYU alumnus, having graduated with a BS in the Information Systems program. Shortly after graduation, Dan was hired on to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ ICS Department as a software Quality Assurance engineer. It didn’t take long for Dan to make his way into software engineering management where he has now worked for over 10 years.

Dan has been involved with many technical projects and leadership groups while working for the Church. He served as Chair for the Church’s SORT technical conference for two years. These conferences included 1,100+ attendees and 200 presentations over two days. He currently works as the quality assurance and operations engineering manager in the Missionary Work portfolio supporting the Church’s Missionary Department. He is responsible for the quality of the applications, managing release processes, and maintaining ongoing system operations through proper incident mitigation and management.

Dan is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and retaining excellent technical employees. He is heavily involved in campus recruiting from multiple universities. For the past ten years he has conducted information sessions and interviewed candidates for technical internships. He takes special interest in working with his alma mater and helping BYU graduates transition into the workforce.

In addition to his quality assurance, operations and recruiting efforts, Dan takes pride in keeping abreast of the latest technology trends and advancements. His latest pursuits include implementation of a new release process to support the transition to the cloud and DevSecOps, and a certification as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.

Dan currently lives in Utah with his wife Laurie and their five kids - Hyrum, Miles, Logan, Annie and Grant.
