Bio
When I communicate to people my goal, it's more of a direction. My goal is to be CFO of a $2B publicly traded company, it's a direction and it's aligned with what I want to do. Whenever I talk to people and they say how hard it is, I share this story: My Father moved to Utah from Mexico when 5 years old. He went from Product Manager for McGraw Hill to washing dishes. Within 5 years, he owned the company. When he came in he didn't know the English language and learned it. One thing my Dad asks me: In 5-10 years, where do you want to be? I made a commitment on what schools I wanted to be in and go to College. People didn't believe I could. Dad said talk about it differently, if it's a moonshot, let's make a list. If I'm going to get there, what are the steps I need to do to get there. I've been doing it step by step.
How Can You Give?
"Every time I talk to young professionals, they are terrified about the ambiguity of life and not having an answer today. First understanding, and line that up with their skill sets, and creating a trajectory for them. Someone that plans tomorrow will be more successful than someone that reacts. They need to create a preliminary guideline and create a Venn diagram on how it aligns with their skill set."
