Biography:
Casey Baugh is a dynamic investor, entrepreneur, operator, board member, and advisor with a
track record of scaling businesses, empowering founders, and driving meaningful impact across
industries.
As the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Sandlot Partners, Casey leads a private equity
firm dedicated to providing exceptional founders and operators with growth capital, strategic
insights, and tailored liquidity solutions. Backed by leading family offices and high-net-worth
individuals, Sandlot Partners has deployed over $600 million since its inception with a mission
to amplify dreamers.
Casey is also General Partner of Roots Management Group, a leading investment and asset
management platform in the manufactured housing sector. Under his leadership, the team has
deployed over $2.2 billion across 260 communities in 19 states, providing affordable housing to
more than 100,000 residents nationwide.
In addition to his investment expertise, Casey is the Co-Founder of Heirloom Restaurant
Group, which supports and builds unique multi-unit franchise concepts and select full-service
restaurants. The group includes Utah favorites Cupbop, Pizzeria 712, Station 22, Communal,
Black Sheep Cafe, 5 Star BBQ, Chom, Twisted Sugar, and Tossd.
Casey is an active early-stage and growth investor, contributing to the success of innovative
companies including Aptive, Vivint, Vivint Solar, ATTX, Pura, Dental Intelligence, Divvy,
Breeze Airways, Gabb, Clicklease, Grit, and Ninja Kidz.
During his 13-year tenure at Vivint, Casey played a pivotal role in sales leadership, helping
grow the company's revenue from $30 million to over $1 billion. His contributions were
instrumental in securing a control investment by Blackstone and successfully transitioning Vivint
from private to public ownership.
Casey is regularly sought out by young professionals and students for his mentorship and
career guidance. He’s passionate about sharing the lessons and insights from his diverse
experiences in both business and life. As an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at
Brigham Young University and the host of the top 1% podcast Case Studies, he connects
with audiences weekly, inspiring and empowering the next generation of leaders.
A lifelong learner dedicated to personal growth, Casey is an avid reader and a graduate of
Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Executive Program.
The Baughs are deeply committed to philanthropy, serving in their church, and supporting
causes that make a lasting impact in Utah and beyond. They have made meaningful
contributions to Utah Valley University’s Entrepreneurship Institute and Intermountain Health,
and focus on improving the lives of underserved populations through the Baugh Family
Foundation.
Casey enjoys golf, travel, daily fitness, and cooking on his Traeger grill, but above all, he loves
anything that involves his incredible wife, Chelsea, and their five awesome kids.
