Biography:

Mike Bennett is serving as the Fruita, Colorado City Manager and has been since October 2014. He and his family love living in Fruita, and they are still overwhelmed by how awesome it is to live like a Fruita local. As City Manager, Mike spends most of his time working with the Fruita City Council, staff, and community to align resources to positively impact Fruita’s Quality of Place, Economic Health, and Lifestyle. Before working in Fruita, Mike worked for the City of Hickory, NC for over eight years. During his time in Hickory, Mike oversaw multiple departments, projects, and regional efforts.

Before he began his career, Mike served an LDS mission in the Ukraine Kiev Mission. He received his associate degree from Ricks College and a Bachelor of Journalism and Public Relations from Utah State University. Mike received his Master of Public Administration degree from the Romney Institute at BYU. He is also an International City/County Management Association Credentialed Manager and a graduate of the Senior Executive Institute at the University of Virginia.

Mike and his wife Tara have three children and love spending time together outdoors. He is passionate about family, purpose, fly-fishing, mountain biking, camping, skiing, and hiking.
