Biography:

David Porter has been the Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer at Vivint since October, 2016 where he is responsible for all purchasing, logistics and distribution activities. He joined Vivint after working at Cummins, a global manufacturing of diesel engines, for over 14 years. At Cummins he held a wide variety of leadership roles in manufacturing, procurement, marketing distribution and logistics. He was a Plant Manager for Cummins in Juarez, Mexico and Jamestown, New York. When he left Cummins he was responsible for $2.5B in annual procurement spending and over 5000 employees in 11 manufacturing plants around the world.

He is a former Captain in the U.S. Army where he served as a Logistics Officer. He spent four years on active duty stationed in Germany and deployed in support of the Bosnian Peacekeeping mission in the mid-1990s. Prior to his military service he spent two years living in southern Chile as a missionary for the LDS church.

David holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Arizona State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

He and his wife Nola have four children. (Two of them are currently studying at BYU-Provo.) They love traveling, music and spending time outdoors.
