Sign Up for Ballard Scholar Program

You might be an accounting major who’s passionate about ending poverty. Or maybe you’re a sociology student striving to solve world hunger. Perhaps you’re studying engineering and just want to create something that will benefit people’s lives.

Ballard Center

Now no matter what your major is or goals are, you can be recognized for your drive to do good through the Ballard Center’s Ballard Scholar for Social Innovation program.

Through involvement in classes and activities offered by the Ballard Center, students can qualify as Ballard Scholars and get the know-how they need to make an impact in their future careers.

“Completing the requirements for the Ballard Scholar has given me a solid foundation for a career in social entrepreneurship, which I plan on doing once I graduate,” says Erik Hansen, one of the first students to earn the recognition. “The classes give students an introduction to the field of social innovation, and the experiential requirement gives students real, practical experience.”

Ballard scholars will receive priority status for grant funding, have their names listed on the Ballard Center website, and be invited to attend the Social Innovator of the Year Luncheon.
