More than 1,600 graduates walked across the stage in the Marriott Center during the April 2026 convocation ceremonies for the BYU Marriott School of Business. At each ceremony, graduates were invited to embody BYU Marriott’s values and become Christlike leaders.

“I’m of the mind that with AI now, we as faculty have to move the goalposts way out there,” says Scott Murff, an associate teaching professor of strategy at the BYU Marriott School of Business. As faculty integrate AI into their classrooms, they say they hope that their students will not only accomplish more, but that they will become more. “Instead of getting to the end of the road, now we want our students to go to the moon.”

The BYU Marriott School of Business honored selected faculty and staff at its April 2026 awards ceremony for their impact in exemplifying BYU Marriott’s mission, vision, and values in both classroom and administrative work.

The MBA program at the BYU Marriott School of Business awarded six MBA students the 2026 Gary P. Williams Leadership Award.

Each year, the George E. Stoddard Prize is awarded to MBA students at the BYU Marriott School of Business who are pursuing careers in finance and have displayed leadership and academic excellence.

The award, which includes a $10,000 cash prize, is one of the highest distinctions given to graduating MBA students at BYU Marriott.

In March, the BYU Marriott School of Business administration recognized one graduating student from each undergraduate program with the Bateman Award for their dedication to the BYU Marriott values, commitment to academic excellence, and profound drive to serve others.

As the winner of the 2025 Big Idea Competition hosted by the Rollins Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at the BYU Marriott School of Business, Ryan Zimbauer says the recognition for his project, MagPocket, is a result of continually seeking and taking opportunities to learn.

The BYU Marriott School of Business hosted its annual case competition, in which the 217 participating students were challenged to center each of their group’s solutions and presentations on Christlike leadership.

During the 2025 Presidential Review, BYU Air Force and Army ROTC programs honored General Bruce A. Carlson with the 2025 Leadership Award. In his address, Carlson encouraged cadets to use their knowledge of gospel principles for peace and perspective during their military service.

Whether it's supporting communities, public reach, distinguished work, or commitment beyond campus, BYU Marriott faculty play an important role.

BYU Marriott MBA alumna Cydni Tetro described standing in a Parisian mansion as Post Malone debuted his new fashion line. At the 2025 Honored Alumni Lecture, Tetro shared the career journey that has led to being there.

The BYU Marriott School of Business presented Kathryn McLay, president and CEO of Walmart International, with the 2025 International Executive of the Year Award. McLay shared how she and her team focus on servant leadership in their work.

As seven new faculty members joined the BYU Marriott School of Business, Dean Brigitte Madrian shares, “We are grateful that these extremely capable individuals have joined our faculty. They are deeply committed to our guiding principle of being centered on students and to our mission of developing leaders of faith, intellect, and character who will transform the world.”

Assistant Teaching Professor Laura Cutler received the 2025 AIS Faculty Advisor of the Year Award. Information systems students from the BYU Marriott School of Business share her positive impact in the program.

The BYU Air Force and Army ROTC programs celebrated the history and service of the ROTC programs with a tribute event, in which speakers shared how the light of Christ impacts military service—both in the past and present.

Four professors from the BYU Marriott School of Business received awards at BYU’s 2025 University Conference. John Bingham, Michael Drake, Melissa Larson, and David Wood received awards in recognition of their contributions to BYU.
