“It’s a beautiful thing,” says Professor of Finance Taylor Nadauld as he describes how finance students at the BYU Marriott School of Business mentor each other.

Through the Wilford A. Cardon International Sponsorship, more than 400 students from more than 50 countries have earned graduate-level education from BYU Marriott. As students enter to learn gospel-centered business principles, they prepare to go forth and serve in their home countries.

Peer advisors rely on their own BYU Marriott experiences to help pre-business students seeking light and advice on an individual level.

At BYU Marriott, some of the brightest insights emerge when new questions meet familiar problems—and when students have a seat at the research table.

The clock read 1 a.m., and Nathan Jessop was still wrestling to finish the financial report his internship sponsor was expecting the next day. The thought came: Ask for help. But he resisted.

A collection of online resources designed and built primarily by BYU Marriott students is helping accounting professionals around the world. During the past decade, BYU’s accounting Hubs—five websites that host hundreds of student-written articles and practical exercises—have racked up more than three million page views.

"WSA gives strategy students that circle of support—people they can bring their hard questions to, celebrate wins with, and lean on during tough days,” says BYU Marriott assistant professor Lena Lizunova.

Regardless of what businesses they visit or what activities they participate in, BYU Marriott students who participate in the annual Business Semester in Italy and Europe make connections while immersing themselves in new cultures.

Since the on-campus internship program formed in 2007, more than 15,000 students have been able to gain class credit—and real-world business experience—through the BYU Marriott School of Business.

Brigham Young University students Grady Call, Morgan Topham, and Deven Gogarty found some truth to the motto, “The world is our campus,” as they competed in the Computers for Change Case Competition, hosted by the BYU Marriott School of Business’s Whitmore Global Business Center. “It’s been a really cool feeling to be able to work on things that can have a real difference in Africa,” Call says.

Before many of them start their first internship, BYU Marriott MBA students who take MBA 657: Brand Management Strategy already have hands-on experience solving problems and acting as brand manangers for brands, such as Hershey’s and Indian Motorcycle.

While the internet continues debating if fruit snacks are candy, General Mills is working to put their product Gushers in the candy aisles. To do this, the company went through BYU Marriott to enlist the help of five students.

When Mayor Khishgeegiin Nyambaatar of Ulaanbaatar—the largest and most populous city in Mongolia—sought to strengthen the public officials who manage the city, he knew just where to turn.

Many students in the strategy program, are preparing for careers in consulting.

Whether they are stepping into their first research assistant (RA) role or building on past research experiences, students in the Marriott Research Fellows (MRF) program gain new skills and build stronger faculty connections as they begin work as RAs.

BYU Marriott School students went on a two-day NetTrek to Dallas, where they met industry professionals and built connections—both with companies and their peers.

During the fall 2024 semester, BYU Marriott School of Business students Ellie and Trevor Lowry rode the bus home from class every weekday—not from the Tanner Building, but from Pforzheim University in Germany.

When a group of BYU Marriott MPA students went to the ICMA conference in Pittsburgh, they learned about local government and connected with alumni.
