Tektronix Contributes to Marriott School Education

Tektronix, one of the global leaders in communications networking, demonstrated its commitment to higher education by donating one of its highest-quality color printers to the Marriott School's Graduate Career Services office.

The Tektronix Phaser 740, valued more than $4,000, makes photographic-quality color and black-and-white prints at true 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution. The donation is one of many the company is making throughout the country to facilitate educational needs of the nation's students.

"We greatly appreciate the donation of this printer," said Louise Illes, director of the Graduate Career Services office. "It allows us to provide more professional and higher quality presentations, resumes and career service literature to students, recruiters and administrators."

The donation comes at a critical time for the Marriott School, as it continues to restructure the services it provides to students and recruiters. The Graduate Career Services office will soon be expanded and moved into the school's new Corporate Development and Career Services Center under construction in the N. Eldon Tanner Building. The new center will consolidate the school's graduate and undergraduate placement, internship, field study and corporate development activities.

Tektronix, headquartered in Beaverton, Ore., generated nearly $1 billion in sales last year. The leading provider of a broad range of test measurement and monitoring equipment for global communications networks, the company holds more than 1,500 patents and continues to innovate, receiving almost 60 new patents per year.

The Marriott School has nationally ranked programs in accounting, business management information systems, organizational behavior and entrepreneurship. The school is located at Brigham Young University, the largest privately owned, church-sponsored university in the United States.
