BYU's Business and Law Schools in U.S. News Top 50

Brigham Young University’s business and law schools are among the top 50 in the United States, reports the 2002 edition of the U.S. News & World Report guide “Best GraduateSchools.”

The J. Reuben Clark Law School is ranked 38th in the nation, and the Marriott School of Management is ranked 44th.

Yale University tops the nation’s law schools, while Stanford University tops the business school rankings. The 9 April issue of U.S. News (on newsstands 2 April) will contain select rankings. The guidebook, with all rankings and other features, goes on sale the same day.

All of the rankings and articles from “Best Graduate Schools” will also be available from U.S. NewsOnline (www.usnews.com).

Rankings for the nation’s accredited law and business schools are based on school reputation, placement success and student selectivity. The law schools have a fourth category, which is “faculty resources.”

“We are pleased to be included again this year among the strongest law schools in the nation and at the top of our region,” said Dean H. Reese Hansen of the J. Reuben Clark Law School. “While rankings vary slightly from year to year, the high rating achieved by our entering class is especially encouraging.”

Said Dean Ned C. Hill of the Marriott School, “While the most significant measure of our success is the character of our graduates, we welcome the recognition as one of the nation’s top schools of business.”

U.S. News first ranked graduate schools in 1987 and has done so annually since 1990.
