"Alison represents everything good about academics," says Gary Cornia, dean of the Marriott School. "She is an exceptional scholar and teacher. We are very proud to count Alison among the graduates of the Marriott School of Management and Brigham Young University."

Davis-Blake earned her bachelor's degree in economics from BYU in 1979 and her master's in organizational behavior from BYU in 1982. She earned her PhD in organizational behavior from Stanford in 1986 before entering the world of academia, with teaching positions at Carnegie Mellon, University of Texas and the University of Minnesota. She currently serves as dean of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Previously she was the senior associate dean at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Davis-Blake will take the helm of the Ross School in August 2011.

The Marriott School is located at Brigham Young University, the largest privately owned, church-sponsored university in the United States. The school has nationally recognized programs in accounting, business management, public management, information systems and entrepreneurship. The school's mission is to prepare men and women of faith, character and professional ability for positions of leadership throughout the world.
