Marriott School Completes Its Second-Largest Hiring Season

Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management has hired the second-largest group of new faculty in school history — 18 new faculty members. The new faculty will enable the Marriott School to meet the increased demand for business management courses. During the past few years, the administration has increased the total number of faculty members by 10, which has allowed the school to expand its undergraduate enrollment from 700 to 850.

Newly hired professors bring training from prominent business schools around the country such as Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Southern California and Emory University.

"The Marriott School continues to attract some of the most talented and qualified professors in the nation," said Ned C. Hill, dean of the Marriott School. "With such a strong faculty, we are able to offer a top-notch education to more students than ever before."

In addition to filling new positions, faculty are replacing large numbers of retiring professors. Administrators project nearly one-third of the business school's faculty will be replaced within the next six or seven years.

The Marriott School is located at Brigham Young University, the largest privately owned, church-sponsored university in the United States. The school has nationally and internationally ranked programs in accountancy, business management, information systems, organizational behavior and entrepreneurship. The mission of the Marriott School is to educate men and women of faith, character and professional ability who will become outstanding managers and leaders throughout the world. Approximately 3,000 students are enrolled in the Marriott School's graduate and undergraduate programs.
