Holding strong as one of the best programs in the country, the Brigham Young University Marriott School of Business MBA has been ranked No. 23 for the second-straight year by Bloomberg Businessweek.
“We are proud of this ranking from Businessweek,” says Lee Perry, BYU Marriott dean. “Our extraordinary BYU Marriott MBA students and graduates are always leading the way forward, and they possess the character, ability, and optimism that many businesses seek. We’re grateful to them and everyone who has strengthened the program.”
The program ranked No. 8 in the alumni survey portion while taking No. 28 for starting salary, No. 30 in the student survey, No. 31 in the employer survey, and No. 48 for job placement.
“This ranking is a credit to the BYU Marriott MBA students and alumni," says Grant McQueen, MBA program director. “They are smart, energetic, and optimistic. These traits help them lead the way forward at their organizations and in their communities and homes.”
The BYU Marriott MBA program reported an 89 percent job placement rate among all employment-seeking graduates, 3 percent higher than the average rate among schools surveyed. In an article accompanying the ranking, Businessweek noted, “A larger share of MBAs from the Brigham Young University Marriott School of Business go into tech than Silicon Valley stalwarts Stanford or the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.”
Bloomberg Businessweek's methodology aims to reflect how well business schools lead graduates into jobs. The rankings are compiled based on five major factors: a survey of employers who hire the school’s graduates (which accounts for 35 percent of the ranking), an alumni survey (30 percent), a student survey (15 percent), the school’s job placement rate (10 percent), and graduates’ starting salaries (10 percent).
The BYU Marriott School of Business prepares men and women of faith, character and professional ability for positions of leadership throughout the world. Named for benefactors J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott, the school is located at Brigham Young University, the largest privately owned, church-sponsored university in the United States. BYU Marriott has four graduate and ten undergraduate programs with an enrollment of approximately 3,300 students.
