The J. Reuben Clark Law School rocketed up to No. 29 in the 2022 edition of the U.S. News Best Graduate School Rankings, leading a group of five BYU graduate programs that earned top marks.
The Law School’s ranking is its highest in more than two decades and represents an eight-spot jump from last year’s rankings. Meanwhile, the BYU Marriott School of Business boasted two Top-50 rankings, with the full-time MBA program ranking No. 31 and the MPA program ranking No. 48.
BYU also had two additional programs land in the Top 100 of their respective categories, with the McKay School of Education ranking No. 73 among Best Graduate Education Schools and the Nursing School coming in at No. 81 for Best Nursing Master’s program — a 14-spot jump from last year.
Two more programs finished just outside of the Top 100: The Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering and Technology came in at No. 101 among engineering schools and BYU’s Public Health program earned a No. 104 ranking in its respective category.
The U.S. News ranks professional school programs in business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing each spring. The rankings are based on expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students. U.S. News also releases undergraduate rankings each fall, which include categories where BYU traditionally holds Top-10 marks, such as best value schools and schools with least debt.
Among specialty graduate rankings released this spring, BYU Marriott also landed four Top-25 rankings:
- No. 4: Graduate Accounting
- No. 17: International Business
- No. 22: Public Management and Leadership
- No. 24: Entrepreneurship
“BYU Marriott graduate programs are world-class and develop the kind of leaders that quality organizations demand,” said Brigitte Madrian, Dean of the Marriott School of Business. “We’re pleased to be recognized by U.S. News for our students’ business skills, innovation, global perspective, and leadership abilities.”
The Law School also landed three specialty rankings:
- No. 36: Business Corporate Law
- No. 44: Intellectual Property Law
- No. 57: Environmental Law
