BYU students seeking to make a difference in the world no longer need to choose between pursuing a fulfilling career or a well-paid profession.

A group of seasoned farmers sit facing Rebecca Loveland, a recent college grad in her mid-twenties, as she leads their discussion on everything from daily planning to marketing to an upcoming potato audit. Loveland feels inexperienced but plows forward, relying on the leadership skills she developed with her Marriott School training to make decisions and collaborate effectively.

When Jeff Bjorkman isn’t reading the unabridged version of Les Misérables, camping outdoors, or trying to recreate cuisine he’s sampled abroad, he is knee-deep in accounting projects with the Marriott School’s MAcc program. His experiences as a student may leave you wishing you too were an accountant.

Eighteen students from BYU’s Romney Institute of Public Management traveled to Ghana for a two-week educational field study and a chance to share their business knowledge with 12 local nonprofit organizations.
