BYU MBA Program Holds No. 27 Ranking

Brigham Young University’s MBA program recently earned the No. 27 spot from Bloomberg Businessweek, placing highly among the 177 business school programs included in the magazine’s 2015 full-time MBA rankings.

Bloomberg Businessweek's ranked the BYU MBA program No. 27 in the publication's annual ranking.

The Marriott School of Management placed No. 21 on the student survey ranking and No. 23 for job placement. BYU also received a No. 31 placement on the employer survey ranking, moving up several spots from 2014.

“We’ve always felt gratified to be seen as a high-quality, high-value educational institution and to be considered in the ranks among a prestigious group of peer schools,” says John Bingham, BYU MBA program director. “This is a tribute to our students and a byproduct of the investments we’ve made.”

This year, Bloomberg Businessweek adjusted its methodology for ranking full-time MBA programs, aiming to reflect how well business schools lead graduates into jobs. The rankings are now compiled based on five major factors: a survey of employers who hire the school’s graduates (which accounts for 35 percent of the ranking), an alumni survey (30 percent), a student survey (15 percent), the school’s job placement rate (10 percent), and graduates’ starting salaries (the remaining 10 percent).

For those at the Marriott School, the ranking is seen as evidence of the effort from students, faculty and staff.

“Everyone associated with the program works very hard, and it is rewarding to see the fruits of that labor reflected in an external ranking like this,” says Bingham.
