Orange County Chapter Hosts Prominent Guests

The Orange County Management Society is making the most of their goal to “help those who share our values to enhance their careers in any way we can.” The chapter strives to serve and support members on every level of need by arranging spiritual, educational, and fun activities. Scheduling luncheons and reaching out to members to increase activity and build a support system has been part of their success.

Actor Gordon Jump addressed the Orange County chapter last November. Left to right: Joe Bentley, Bill Chapman, Gordon Jump, Betty Jump, Tom Thorkelson.

Outstanding speakers have highlighted the Orange County Management Society’s activities. They recently heard from actor Gordon Jump, often recognized for playing the Maytag repairman and for his leading role in the popular sitcom, WKRP in Cincinatti. Other speakers included Peter Vidmar, an Olympic medallist and motivational speaker; Marriott School Associate Dean W. Steve Albrecht; BYU President Merrill J. Bateman; and justice of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals J. Clifford Wallace.

“One of our goals has been to develop a full year’s calendar in advance and post it on our web site,” says Bill Chapman, past president of the Orange County chapter and new member of the national steering committee. “People can now plan to attend our events with great anticipation, instead of hearing about things at the last minute and having conflicts.”

The chapter has also focused on publishing membership directories and quarterly newsletters to keep its members informed.
