"We all have opportunities to use our professional lives to bless the lives of others around us," Dame said. "Students who are preparing to venture out into the business world need to focus on those opportunities and realize they can be a tremendous force for good."

Dame has been making the most of his business opportunities since he started working at Woodgrain Millwork, a small family-owned business. During his 32 years with the company, he has seen it grow from a small wood-products plant to the largest international manufacturer of wood moldings. As a result of his company's success, Dame has been able to dedicate more of his time to service in the community.

Dame has worked to improve the educational and professional opportunities of BYU students by serving on the Marriott School's National Advisory Council for the past 10 years. In addition, he and two other council members, founded the Missionary Education Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing college scholarships for indigenous South American's returning from missions.

Dame and his wife Linda are the proud parents of five daughters and two sons. Dame graduated from BYU in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Each of the Dame's college-aged children has also attended BYU.

The Marriott School is located at Brigham Young University, the largest privately owned, church-sponsored university in the United States. The school has nationally and internationally ranked programs in accountancy, business management, information systems, organizational behavior and entrepreneurship. The mission of the Marriott School is to educate men and women of faith, character and professional ability who will become outstanding managers and leaders throughout the world. Approximately 3,000 students are enrolled in the Marriott School's graduate and undergraduate programs.
