David Layton is the Chief Executive Officer of Partners Group. David leads Partners Group’s Executive Team, its Global Executive Board and he is a member of the firm’s Global Investment Committee. David principally divides his time between Partners Group's Americas headquarters in Colorado, USA and Partners Group's global headquarters in Zug, Switzerland. He was previously the Head of Partners Group's Private Equity business department, and he has represented the firm on the Board of Directors of several of the firm's portfolio companies, including Universal Services of America, Nobel Learning Communities, MicroPoise Measurement Systems, Cabot Credit Management, Pacific Bells, and Strategic Partners. David holds a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management.

Tracy Farr joined Lazard in 2013 and is a Managing Director in the Capital Structure Advisory group. Mr. Farr works on a variety of acquisition financing, capital structure advisory, and restructuring assignments for clients throughout the firm. His most recent transaction experience includes the acquisition of HunterDouglas by 3G Capital, Oaktree’s investment in TPI Composites, and Quanta’s acquisition of Blattner.  Other recent transactions include the sale of MIC’s portfolio (including Atlantic Aviation and IMTT), Google’s investment in ADT, IBM’s separation of Kyndryl, the purchase of Lummus Technology by The Chatterjee Group and Rhône Group, ABI’s sale of Carlton & United Breweries, the take-private of Merlin Entertainments, Saputo’s acquisition of Dairy Crest, Smith & Nephew’s acquisition of Osiris Therapeutics and the restructuring of Global Cloud Exchange.

Mr. Farr recently spent one year in Lazard’s London, U.K. office working on Restructuring and Debt Advisory engagements.   

Prior to joining Lazard, Mr. Farr spent two years as a manager in Ernst & Young’s (EY) Financial Accounting Advisory Services practice in New York providing on-call consulting to Wall Street and large corporations regarding complex structuring for derivatives, hedging, hybrid debt/equity securities, and capital market transactions.   

Prior to joining EY, Mr. Farr was a postgraduate technical assistant at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) drafting updates to U.S. GAAP for financial instruments, derivatives, hedge accounting, and complex hybrid instruments.

Sam Orme is Managing Director for Bank of America Merrill Lynch with a focus on Utah and the Rocky Mountain region. In this role, he is focused on helping clients succeed though strategic merger and acquisitions advice and targeted capital raising solutions (including both debt and equity).
 
Mr. Orme has extensive experience working on a variety of corporate development and investment banking transactions including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and private equity transactions. He has been involved in transactions with a broad range of privately held companies as well as public companies, including Cargill, Mitsui, PayPal, E*Trade, Exxon, SunGard, SS&C, Corporate Express, First American, Mosaic, and American Capital. 

Previously, Mr. Orme was Head of Corporate Development for Savage Services, one of the larger privately held industrial logistics companies in the United States. Prior to joining Savage, Mr. Orme worked for D.A. Davidson & Co. as well as Robertson Stephens M&A Group in San Francisco. Before Robertson, Mr. Orme was an accountant at Deloitte & Touché. He holds an M.B.A. from Washington State University and a B.S. in Finance and a minor in Economics from the University of Utah. In 2012, he was named one of the Top 40 Under 40 Investment Bankers by The M&A Advisor.

In 2018 he moved back to Utah to join Ensign Peak Advisors, his current employer. At Ensign Peak, Kurt covers the broad industrials sector on the public equity team. David began his career at Ernst & Young, specializing in investment management audits. Subsequently, he has held various accounting and management roles at Safeco Mutual Funds in Seattle and Dodge & Cox in San Francisco. Brett Sumsion is a portfolio manager in the Global Asset Allocation (GAA) group at Fidelity Investments. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals. GAA is an investment team within Fidelity’s Asset Management Solutions division, an integrated investment, distribution, and client service organization dedicated to meeting the unique needs of the institutional marketplace.

In this role, Mr. Sumsion co-manages Fidelity’s target-date strategies, including Fidelity-managed 529 plans and Canadian target date plans.

Prior to joining Fidelity in 2014, Mr. Sumsion held various positions at DuPont Capital Management, Inc., including managing director of asset allocation and portfolio manager. While at DuPont, Mr. Sumsion managed strategic and tactical asset allocation strategies for institutional clients. He has been in the financial industry since 2001.

Mr. Sumsion earned his bachelor of arts degree in economics from Brigham Young University and his master of business administration degree in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a CFA® charterholder.

Turley, Vice President — Mr. Turley received his B.A. degree (magna cum laude) in Mathematics and Economics from Brigham Young University in 2003, his M.B.A. degree from the New York University Stern School of Business in 2008, and his A.M. and Ph.D. degrees in Business Economics from Harvard in 2011 and 2013. Prior to his doctoral studies, he worked as a member of the Quantitative Investment Strategies team at Goldman Sachs.
