David Longhurst

David Longhurst grew up on a family farm in Connell, Washington. Following a full-time mission to Brazil, he obtained a BS in Accounting attended Brigham Young University. While in Provo, he married Chris Thrap, and they subsequently have learned much in raising seven wonderfully diverse children! 

David began his career at Ernst & Young, specializing in investment management audits. Subsequently, he has held various accounting and management roles at Safeco Mutual Funds in Seattle and Dodge & Cox in San Francisco. He recently retired from his role as Treasurer of the Dodge & Cox Funds, excited to devote time for his many other passions, including community service, interfaith collaboration, Mormon studies, gardening, and spending time with grandchildren.

David has served in several Church leadership roles, including his current role of representing the Church on two interfaith councils in the East Bay: the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County and the Interfaith Council of Alameda County.
