Keynote
Andrew Croshaw is a Partner and Managing Director at Leavitt Partners where he helps clients enter new markets, enhance the value of their products, and navigate dynamic regulatory and reimbursement systems.
Previously, Mr. Croshaw served jointly as a Senior Executive Advisor to Secretary Michael O. Leavitt at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and as Project Leader for the Value-Driven Healthcare Initiative. In these roles Mr. Croshaw managed the overall implementation of the initiative, which aimed to improve the connectivity of America’s health information systems, encourage the measurement and availability of quality and price information, and enhance incentives for all healthcare stakeholders to seek high-quality, competitively-priced health care.
Prior to serving in the federal government, Mr. Croshaw worked at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation where he focused on the Medicare and Medicaid business segments. Previous to this role, he held multiple leadership positions in payor marketing at Eli Lilly and Company where he coordinated pricing, rebate, and value-added program efforts aimed at preserving formulary access for flagship products among state Medicaid programs and private sector insurers.
Mr. Croshaw earned a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University, where he pursued interests in healthcare innovation and leadership. He received a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University. He very happily resides with his wife and five children in Salt Lake City.
Sheri Dew serves as chief executive officer and president of Deseret Book Company. She joined Deseret Book in 1988, was named vice president of publishing in 1993, and in 2000 was appointed executive vice president. She serves as director of Bonneville International Corporation. She is a veteran of the LDS publishing industry, working first in 1978 as assistant editor at Bookcraft for three years, and then for six years as an editor and associate publisher at This People Magazine. She is the author of the biographies of Gordon B. Hinckley and Ezra Taft Benson and several best-sellers, including "If Life Were Easy, It Wouldn't Be Hard," "No One Can Take Your Place," "No Doubt About It," "Saying It Like It Is," and "God Wants a Powerful People."
Dew currently serves on the National Advisory Council of Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management, is a member of the BYU Alumni Board, and a member of BYU-Hawaii's Presidents' Leadership Council. In March 2003, the White House appointed her a member of the US Delegation to the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations. She served from 1997 to 2002 as second counselor in the General Relief Society presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University.
Mark James is Honeywell’s senior vice president of Human Resources, Procurement and Communications. James is responsible for leading global human resources strategy and programs for the company’s 130,000 employees in more than 100 countries. This includes organization and talent development, staffing, learning, compensation and benefits, labor and employee relations, HR services, and the Six Sigma training organization. His role also includes leading the company’s communications, procurement, and aviation functions. He has served in this role since November 2007.
Prior to this position, James was vice president of Human Resources and Communications for Honeywell Aerospace, a position he held since October 2004, leading HR strategies for the $12 billion business and its more than 40,000 employees. James joined Honeywell in February, 2000 as director of Human Resources for Federal Manufacturing & Technologies in Kansas City and was promoted in March, 2001 to Vice President of Human Resources for Aerospace Electronic Systems in Phoenix.
Prior to Honeywell, James held a variety of Human Resources positions with Iomega, JM Family Enterprises (a Toyota distributor), AT&T, and Lockheed Martin.
James holds a master’s degree from the University of Utah in public administration with an emphasis in human resources, and a business administration degree in personnel and industrial relations from Utah State University. James is a designated senior professional in human resources, a certified compensation professional and a certified benefits professional. He is a certified Six Sigma Leadership Black Belt.

Courtney Rogers is an Executive Director of Human Resources at Amgen, Inc., in Thousand Oaks, CA. In his current assignment, he is the lead HR business partner for Amgen’s Discovery Research and Translational Sciences division. He and his team support 2,500 researchers at the cutting edge of human therapeutics. He also plays a key role in the integration of two recent biotech acquisitions, MicroMet and d-CODE.
Courtney joined Amgen in 2003 to lead the corporate Leadership Strategy & Organizational Development group. Not only was he the architect of Amgen’s first executive development program, but he also led a major overhaul of the company’s talent management and succession planning processes and implemented the first company-wide performance management system. He has since held senior HR/Talent positions supporting global Information Services and Amgen’s international headquarters in Zug, Switzerland, where he both managed pan-European talent for the business and led a redesign of Amgen’s international HR structure.
Prior to joining Amgen, Courtney was President of Novations Group, Inc. a mid-sized strategy and executive development firm headquartered in Boston. While there, Courtney managed the integration of four independent consulting organizations—Novations Group, Behavioral Technology, Decker Communications, and J. Howard & Associates. Prior to becoming president, he led global projects in organization strategy and design, HR systems and processes, career/leadership development, and change management. His clients included Motorola, ExxonMobil, Nabisco, General Mills, and other Fortune 50 companies.
Courtney earned his Bachelors in Public Policy from BYU and was a member of the National Championship football team in 1984. He resides in Ventura County, California with his wife and three daughters. He is a voracious reader, avid skier and passionate fly fisherman.
