Courtney Rogers
Courtney Rogers is an Executive Director of Human Resources at Amgen, Inc., in Thousand Oaks, CA. In his current assignment, he is the lead HR business partner for Amgen’s Discovery Research and Translational Sciences division. He and his team support 2,500 researchers at the cutting edge of human therapeutics. He also plays a key role in the integration of two recent biotech acquisitions, MicroMet and d-CODE.
Courtney joined Amgen in 2003 to lead the corporate Leadership Strategy & Organizational Development group. Not only was he the architect of Amgen’s first executive development program, but he also led a major overhaul of the company’s talent management and succession planning processes and implemented the first company-wide performance management system. He has since held senior HR/Talent positions supporting global Information Services and Amgen’s international headquarters in Zug, Switzerland, where he both managed pan-European talent for the business and led a redesign of Amgen’s international HR structure.
Prior to joining Amgen, Courtney was President of Novations Group, Inc. a mid-sized strategy and executive development firm headquartered in Boston. While there, Courtney managed the integration of four independent consulting organizations—Novations Group, Behavioral Technology, Decker Communications, and J. Howard & Associates. Prior to becoming president, he led global projects in organization strategy and design, HR systems and processes, career/leadership development, and change management. His clients included Motorola, ExxonMobil, Nabisco, General Mills, and other Fortune 50 companies.
Courtney earned his Bachelors in Public Policy from BYU and was a member of the National Championship football team in 1984. He resides in Ventura County, California with his wife and three daughters. He is a voracious reader, avid skier and passionate fly fisherman.
