Directly before the Hunger Banquet begins, over 30 non-profit organizations gather in the Wilkinson Center Garden Court to share their stories and recruit volunteers.

The BYU Hunger Banquet has been a staple event at the end of BYU's Care Week for 32 years. This year's experience is designed to help attendees understand global inequality featuring several speakers from the local community, and cultural song and dance performances. Attendees will be randomly assigned to a social class and fed a meal typical of that income level. They will also be given a role as they enter the Hunger Banquet and will experience different events throughout the night through the eyes of their assigned character. This year's Hunger Banquet guests are invited to reflect on the changes they can make in their engagement efforts in order to make a difference in a positive way.
