What is the BYU Marriott Professional Business Conference about?
The BYU Marriott Professional Business Conference gives students a unique opportunity to learn directly from accomplished CEOs, CFOs, executives, entrepreneurs, and other business leaders. Rather than simply learning about success in a classroom, students can hear firsthand about the experiences, decisions, habits, and lessons that helped these leaders build successful careers.
The conference is designed to help students discover what they can start doing now to prepare for their own future success. Through keynote sessions, breakout discussions, and conversations with National Advisory Council (NAC) members, students will gain practical advice and perspective on leadership, career development, professional growth, and navigating the business world.
Come ready to listen, ask questions, and learn from people who have already built the careers and lives you aspire to have. The goal is not only to hear their stories, but to identify the practices, principles, and lessons you can begin applying to your own life and career today.
What should I wear?
Students are expected to dress in business professional attire. This may include suits, dress pants, blazers, button-down shirts, blouses, professional dresses, skirts, ties, dress shoes, or other polished professional clothing.
Please come prepared to represent yourself and BYU Marriott well as you interact with members of the National Advisory Council and other business professionals.
What should I expect at the conference?
The BYU Marriott Professional Business Conference is designed to give students the opportunity to hear from, network with, and learn from members of the National Advisory Council.
Throughout the event, students will attend a keynote session, participate in breakout sessions, and have time to connect with NAC members and other attendees. NAC members are executives from a variety of industries who are eager to share their experiences, recommendations, and advice to help students prepare for future career success.
Do I need to bring anything?
Students do not need to bring much, but it may be helpful to bring a notebook, pen, and any questions you would like to ask NAC members.
You may also want to have your LinkedIn profile updated before the event in case you make professional connections you would like to follow up with afterward.
Who are the National Advisory Council members?
National Advisory Council members are accomplished executives and business leaders who support BYU Marriott through mentorship, strategic insight, and professional engagement with students, faculty, and college leadership.
They come from a wide range of industries and bring valuable perspectives on leadership, career development, business strategy, and professional growth.
How should I prepare for networking?
Students are encouraged to come prepared to introduce themselves, ask thoughtful questions, and engage professionally with NAC members and other attendees.
Before the event, consider preparing a brief introduction that includes your name, major or program, career interests, and what you hope to learn. You may also want to think of a few questions to ask business leaders during networking opportunities.

Check-In FAQ
Where should I park?
Students should park in designated Y lots or other approved student parking areas. Please refer to the parking information provided under the event’s parking heading for specific directions and parking guidance.
Attendees are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for parking and walking to the event location.
Where do I check in?
Check-in information will be provided closer to the event date. The check-in location is currently TBD.
Students should plan to arrive early enough to check in, receive their conference materials, and be seated before the keynote begins.
Will I receive anything at check-in?
Yes. Registered attendees will receive a conference lanyard and event swag as part of the conference experience.

Is registration required?
Yes. Students should register in advance in order to attend and receive conference materials. Space may be limited, so students are encouraged to register early.
May I register my spouse or a friend to attend?
Yes, if your guest is a BYU Marriott admitted or pre-business student, please encourage them to register for themselves.
Can I attend only part of the event?
Students are encouraged to attend the full conference experience if their schedule allows. Each portion of the event is designed to provide valuable opportunities to learn, network, and engage with business professionals.
Who should attend?
This event is intended for BYU Marriott students who are interested in developing professionally, learning from experienced executives, and building meaningful connections with business leaders.
