Mat Duerden
Mat Duerden has taught at BYU since 2012 but he’s been a loyal cougar since birth. He teaches courses in experience design and evaluation and is an assistant professor in the Department of Experience Design and Management. Mat loves helping students make connections between what they’re learning in the classroom and their personal and professional lives.
Mat received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University and his M.S. from Brigham Young University. He has published over 30 peer reviewed articles and multiple book chapters. His research focuses on experience design in both work and non-work contexts.
Mat is married to Chenae Duerden and they have four children, Jackson, Layla, Cooper, and Adele. They love to spend time together playing in the mountains, attending BYU events, and eating good food.
