Richard Bobo
Richard Bobo, from Southern Pines, North Carolina, joined the BYU MBA Class of 2018 following eight years of active duty service in the United States Army. He received his bachelor's degree in Accounting and began his career in Georgia where he completed the Infantry Officer Course and Ranger School. From his first duty station in Hawaii, Richard deployed to Kirkuk, Iraq for 12 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He transitioned from the Infantry to the Finance Corps and relocated to North Carolina, where he served as an airborne company commander and a special operations comptroller. Richard has loved the opportunities in the Marriott School to work with fellow students as a teaching assistant for three different classes. Additionally, he's taken great satisfaction in serving his peers as the self-appointed MBA Lounge maid. In place of a summer internship, Richard took all four parts of the CPA exam and both parts of the CMA exam. He was humbled recently to be selected as a Stoddard Scholar, recognizing excellence in the finance major. Following graduation, he will return to the Army as a special operations resource manager. Richard and his spectacular wife, Jenni, are the proud parents of three lovely daughters and a son.
