Klarissa Kemp
Klarissa Kemp is from North Ogden, UT studying accounting. She is a first-year MAcc student in the Professional Stem and PhD Prep Track. She loves to dance, play games, do crosswords, laugh and tell/hear stories. Her most meaningful involvement in the Marriott School has been with VITA (Voluntary Income Tax Assistance) and Beta Alpha Psi. This is her 3rd year volunteering for VITA and this year she is the site coordinator, so she gets to make sure everything runs smoothly in the lab and trains volunteers. She has also been involved in other service projects through Beta Alpha Psi, such as tying blankets, helping with Meet the Firms and the Marriott Club Kickoff, and helping boy scouts pass their finance merit badges through Pow Wow. She was also an Ohana Leader for her accounting junior core section which helps her get out of my shell and maintain relationships with my peers.
She is very grateful to have the Marriott School brand attached to my name. She believes the Marriott School has provided her so many opportunities that she never even imagined when she began college. Between working with recruiters, meeting alumni at conferences, studying business abroad, going to accounting research workshops, working with some of the best faculty in the country, and being built up by fellow students, she feels she has become a better person and it's all thanks to those involved in the Marriott School.
